Getting into Reading

So recently I've been getting into reading. It's been a long time since i last picked up a book and read it for enjoyment. The last book i picked up was perhaps Harry Potter and the the Deathly Hallows. Making it about 3?? years ago? Anyway i started to kind of make it like a ritual going to Borders especially the one in Union Square and look for a book that might catch my attention.

As I was browsing for a book to get my attention and come home with me, I came upon this book. A book about politics, no not just any normal book, but a book about politics as TOLD BY CHUCK NORRIS. Interesting enough I learned that Mr.Norris wants for Texas to become it's own country. Which could happen since he is Chuck Norris.

Anyway i made my way and eventually picked up a book called "The Hour Between" . Seemed like an interesting read so i bought the book. It looks like very interesting book and perhaps another "Cather in the Rye"

The book that I have recently just, literally 20 minutes ago just finished was "The World of Normal Boys." WOW just WOW is some of my words to describe this book. This book can be put down as my top #1 Book. What makes this book different that any other book I have read in the past is that it's one of those few books that comes along and moves you. A book that makes you smile, makes you sad, and makes you angry. Unlike perhaps books that I've read in the past or those really fiction books like Harry Potter. This book is much different since it's a book that tells a story that seems to feel to be real and an actual event that happened. No happy ever after ending but just raw truth. I can only pray and hope this book becomes a motion picture before I die. This is the kind of books that deserve to be made into movies not that Twilight B.S, but books that actually touch you and make you think and not fantasize about a mystical world.

Now "The World of Normal Boys" is a growing up story of Robin McKanzie(hope i spelled his name right). Robin is 13 and about to go on 14. Like many of us he's the oldest and has 2 younger siblings. A younger brother by the name of Jackson and much younger sister by the name of Ruby. Robin has problems in school, he's one of those kids that gets picked on for being different. Not only does he get picked on by his fellow classmates but also by his annoying cousin Larry.

The story revolves mainly about a horrible accident that happens to Jackson that leaves him with a broken spine and a somewhat coma. Accident caused manly by Larry, the family starts to change. His dad being a somewhat gentle man becomes a short temper man. His sister becomes a religious nut and his mom starts to take up drinking very heavily. During this Time Robin starts to go through many changes and befriends a somewhat pot-head kid by the name of Scott. Scott lives with his abusive father who hits him for just about anything. Robin and Scott throughout start and become very close friends, while at the same time his family starts to separate more and more due to the accident.

"The World of Normal Boys" is a definite pick up and i highly recommend it. And like I said, I hope this book becomes one of those that gets to be made into a movie. once you read the last word in the book it makes you yearn to perhaps be able to read beyond and see what happens after this book. Luckily After doing some google searches, i was very HAPPY AND EXCITED to read that the author did and is continuing the story of Robin, that will take place 4 years in the future and concentrate on Robin and his sister Ruby. This is very exciting to see what changes Robin is facing and ha gone though in four years. I can't wait. The only thing that sucks is that we have to wait until spring 2010 to see what happens.
